A permanent exhibition at the museum called “New Antiquity in the Old Museum” showcases a number of pieces of art and sculptures from ancient Greek and Roman times.

There are references to Rome within the architectural design of the Altes Museum building; the 18 iconic columns, the atriums and grand staircase are all elements to be admired.

Entry to this Museum and all of the others on Museum Island is free to Berlin Pass holders. Other museums include; Bode Museum; Pergamon Museum; Neues Musuem.
