The Gemalde Gallery, known locally as Gemaldegalerie, highlights the importance Berlin to the art world with its extensive collection of work.
Found in the heart of the Kulturforum in central Berlin, the Gemalde Gallery is home to a collection of over 2,700 pieces of art by European artists from 13th to 18th century.
Visitors will find one of the world’s largest collections of Rembrandt’s work as well as the world famous painting by Jan Vermeer, the “Young lady with string of pearls” all displayed in rooms bathed with natural sunlight.
Whilst in the area art lovers can also visit nearby galleries such as Kunstbibliothek and Neue National Gallery – these 2 popular galleries and the Gemalde Gallery are all free with the Berlin Pass!
